Under the leadership of our first president, J.N. “Ding” Darling, the Federation’s priority was passing the 1937 Federal Aid in Wildlife Restoration Act, a cornerstone of the revered North American model of wildlife conservation. This victory launched the recovery of dozens of bird and mammal species and propelled our continued work with countless partners to conserve and protect our nation’s precious natural resources.
