Infrastructure Investments and Jobs Act (IIJA) and Inflation Reduction Act
We launched a massive effort to ensure that Congress and the White House pass a set of bills that make strategic, historic investments in key programs to create jobs, strengthen community resilience, address environmental injustices, confront climate change, and recover wildlife. NWF and Affiliate staff rallied in Washington, DC with coalition partners to urge federal leaders to act on climate, co-hosted a national grassroots townhall streamed live on Facebook to call on Congress to deliver bold action on climate through the reconciliation package, among other tactics.
Democracy and Civic Engagement
We lead campaigns around civic engagement and democracy to protect voter rights and strengthen our democracy so that we can make climate progress, protect wildlife and advance justice for all. At NWF we engage in Get Out the Vote (GOTV) and Voter Education Campaigns, national and state level actions to project voting rights along with education and storytelling, anti-corruption and anti-disinformation campaigns, civic engagement outside of elections, and democracy protection, among others.
