As Chief Financial Officer of the National Wildlife Federation, Ismael Savadogo leads the Finance team in all aspects of the Business Planning and Analysis, Financial Systems, Accounting, and Treasury functions as well as general oversight of the financial and related business activities across the organization. Savadogo also serves as the Treasurer for the Board of Directors and is the primary staff liaison with the Finance, Audit, and Investment Committees of the Board.
Prior to joining NWF, he was the chief financial officer at Change.org, the world’s largest petition website for social change. He also served as CFO for the National Aquarium, the National Wildlife Federation’s Maryland affiliate. His other prior executive roles include CFO for Color of Change, and overseeing global finance operations for Greenberg Quinlan Rosner Research, for over a decade.
Savadogo is passionate about helping organizations achieve their strategic goals and is committed to principles of integrity, equity, accountability, and collaboration. Over the past 20 years, his experience in leading financial operations for nonprofits and for-profit organizations has reinforced his conviction that focus on mission and sustainability are equally important to achieve ambitious organizational goals.
In his spare time, Savadogo enjoys spending time with his family and volunteering his expertise to support domestic and international NGO’s as a trustee and advisor. He currently serves on the board of the Mid-Atlantic Foundation of the U.S. Tennis Association, and Eko, a global non-profit advocacy organization and global community that campaigns to hold corporations accountable on issues of human rights, animal rights, climate change, and discrimination.
Savadogo completed MIT Sloan Business School’s CFO Accelerator program, received a B.A in Finance & Management from the University of Quebec in Morocco, and an MBA from Dowling College’s Townsend School of Business.
