National Wildlife Federation has developed a rich foundation of editorial and media assets available for licensing that are curated from our Publishing, Education, and Conservation programs.

Rights and Permissions

All materials in our magazines, books, educator and parent guides, nature guides, conservation reports, artwork, photography, and websites are, without limitation, protected by U.S. and foreign copyright and trademark laws. All content is copyrighted by National Wildlife Federation and/or various authors, illustrators, photographers, or other partner-related entity. Any use or distribution of material without permission is strictly prohibited.

Requests for permission to use any of our content must be in writing. Please include, where applicable: the content of interest (articles, books or magazine titles, educator guides, parent guides, nature guides, conservation reports, artwork, photography and more). Please indicate specific authors if applicable, magazine issue dates, book dates, etc. and how content will be used. Access to complete information will allow the process to proceed in a timely manner.

If you have an urgent request or deadline, or are searching for specific content, please let us know and we will work to accommodate it. Our current turnaround time for permission requests is 3-7 business days.
