John Dillon – Chair of the Board of Trustees A native of Glasgow in Scotland John started his career in production and sales and served with I.C.I. Ltd, a multi-national chemical company, for several years before becoming a minister of the Church of Scotland. In 1993 he transferred to the PC(USA) and has served congregations in California, Arkansas, Florida, and Maryland and now Illinois. He lives in Crystal Lake.IL, with his wife Louise and their four children.

John holds qualifications in Business Studies from Slough College of Technology, a Bachelor of Arts in History of Modern Design & Architecture from the Open University, Milton Keynes, and a Bachelor of Divinity, Joint Honors in Systematic & Practical Theology, from Trinity College, University of Glasgow. He has been a member of the Iona Community since 1988 and is serving his second term on the Board of the. New World Foundation.

Phyllis Ives, Treasurer – UCC, Lay member. Associate Member of Iona Community. Iona Abbey residential volunteer in 2012. Retired philanthropic counsel to nonprofit organizations. Pemaquid Harbor, ME.

Matilda Chase – better known among her friends and colleagues as Tillie, is an honorably retired Presbyterian Minister.  Prior to being a minister, Tillie worked for 20 years as an International Banker specializing in Information Technology.  Now that she is retired she spends her days writing a book about her ancestor who was a missionary in 1826, throwing pottery on her own kick wheel, working for the Iona Community of Scotland in the US, knitting, working as a Spiritual Director, and traveling with her husband Jamie.  Retirement has freed Tillie up to do the things she loves to do, but there still isn’t enough time in the day to do it all!

Anissa Glaser-Bacon – Regional Convener – UCC pastor (New Vision United Church of Christ) – Associate Member of the Iona Community, Sacristan’s Assistant in Iona Abbey in 2005. Hymnologist and Song Leader. 

Kate Hollbrook

Kate Holbroook – PC(USA) Clergy. Chaplain at Colorado College (in Colorado Springs) where I focus on Interfaith dialogue, art & spirituality, contemplation, and integrative mind/body practices like Wisdom Healing Qigong. Associate member of the Iona Community. Have volunteered several times in the MacLeod Kitchen.

Katharine Preston – writer, studied anthropology as an undergraduate at Brandeis University, learning from some Indigenous cultures in present-day America about the place of humans in the natural world. She also has a Master’s in Forest Science and a Master’s of Divinity.  She and her husband, John Bingham, live in Essex, New York and are active associates of the Iona Community

Kathleen Roney – American Baptist pastor.  Associate Member of Iona Community,  Kirkridge Board Member, Allentown, PA.

Kathryn Sparks Carpenter – Life-long connection to the Iona Community as a ‘Community kid.’ Has twice worked as a volunteer and discovered her life’s calling to liturgical dance on Iona. Has degrees in theology and dance and taught for many years. Ordained elder in the PC(USA) and Associate member of the Community. Loves working as a massage therapist. Adamstown, MD
