Monarch butterflies need our help. Join the National Wildlife Federation and help plant monarch butterfly food so we can continue to enjoy these iconic butterflies. Pledge now to be a Butterfly Hero and plant a garden that provides food, water, and places for monarchs to lay their eggs.
Submit your information on our Butterfly Heroes Pledge to show your support for monarch butterflies. Be on the lookout for an email to share your photos and gardening stories with us this spring!
Check out our Learning to Garden page to get helpful tips on starting your wildlife garden! For example, be sure to plant your seeds in a sunny spot with some protection from the wind. Keep an eye out for animals! Take notes on the wildlife in your garden and the types of caterpillars your garden attracts. Your butterfly garden seeds will sprout in the spring, grow in summer and fall, and then come back next year! Share a photo of your garden on our Facebook and Twitter pages.
More than one-third of U.S. fish and wildlife species are at risk of extinction in the coming decades. The National Wildlife Federation is on the ground in seven regions across the country, collaborating with 53 state and territory affiliates to reverse the crisis and ensure wildlife thrive.
