A Powerful Plan for Building Coastal Resilience
America’s coastlines are under siege from climate-driven impacts.
Sea level rise and the increasing intensity and frequency of coastal storms and hurricanes are significantly impacting urban and rural communities, coastal habitats, and the wildlife that depend on them. The financial cost to vulnerable coastal infrastructure and loss of our nation’s precious wetlands is immeasurable.
With this in mind, the National Wildlife Federation has made the decision to expand the capacity of our coastal resilience program by launching a $10M 3-year growth fund campaign. By scaling-up our regional resilience model (which applies natural and nature-based infrastructure), we can deliver a repeatable, scalable approach that will significantly mitigate coastal impacts to benefit coastal communities, habitats, and economies.
