About the EcoLeaders Program

The National Wildlife Federation has more than 25 years of history of working with colleges and universities through its Campus Ecology program to protect wildlife and habitat, and improve campuses overall green educational programming and onsite sustainability.

Founded in 1989, its student outreach programs, campus consulting, natural resource reduction competition, and educational events and resources reach about a thousand campuses each year.

In 2014 the National Wildlife Federation launched its EcoLeaders Program, a sustainability leadership and career development program for college students and young professionals. Over the last few years, we have transitioned from Campus Ecology to focus our efforts on the EcoLeaders Program. However, the Campus Ecology Resource Center remains one of the best collections of conservation and sustainability resources for colleges and universities in the United States.
